We meet in Paradise
A visual poem about exil.

A large box glides along the streets. Is it a phantom boat, a giant package from far away, a strange raft or a makeshift shelter?
The box wanders through the crowd searching for a place to disembark. Silent figures looking for a new home crawl out of the black box. These gray silhouettes wordlessly tell of their voyage, their fears and of their arrival in a new land.
When the promised “paradise” has been reached, what is left? The beginning of another dream?
Other boxes arrive. They contain memories and dreams of migrant people. The boxes open, ready for an encounter. The audience is then invited to share a warm soup and walk through the installation to discover more testimonies from migrants.
The masks are hand-made by the company specifically for this creation. They represent shadows. Each mask has no mouth or nose, evoking the impossibility of expressing oneself.
The installation is developed from on-site interviews and research done with immigrants living in the region where the piece is performed.
